Adjudications of the independent Complaints Committee of the Advertising Standards Authority for Ireland, on complaints in respect of 24 advertisements, 19 of which attracted complaints from consumers and 5 complaints being of an interested party nature are now detailed on the ASAI website, www.asai.ie.
At their meeting, the Complaints Committee found 14 of the advertisements complained of to be in breach of the ASAI Code on various grounds relating to truthfulness, principles, decency, propriety and sales promotions. The advertisements complained of related to press, brochures, radio, sales promotions and internet.
We would like to remind advertisers that in the case of upheld advertisements, they are required to confirm that their advertising will not reappear in that form. In addition, the ASAI Monitoring Service is monitoring compliance with the Complaints Committee’s adjudications.
Media members are reminded that advertisements found to be in breach of the Code can not be accepted for publication.
