ASAI announces an extension of the Digital Remit of the Code

The ASAI is extending its current digital remit to include marketing communications on advertisers’ profile pages and other non-paid-for space online, under advertisers’ control, which is currently outside of remit. 
The extension of remit will be effective from 2nd January 2013.  However there will be a three month grace period when the ASAI will investigate complaints but will not refer them to the independent Complaints Committee for formal adjudication
In announcing its remit extension it has also developed a Guidance Note for interested parties on how the extension will be applied. 
The ASAI has prepared a document which
a)         sets out and explains the extension of remit,
b)         states the amended sections of the Code and
c)         includes the ASAI Guidance Notes on the Digital Remit of the Code.
